Design & Build
This project transforms a formerly concrete-paved courtyard into a natural, immersive learning garden. The design replaces hard surfaces with greenery and soft landscapes, creating a cooling and ecologically rich outdoor environment for exploration and discovery. Recycled tyres are repurposed as planting rings and informal planters, adding playful structure while reinforcing sustainability through visible, hands-on design elements. A meandering natural gravel path and dried leaf trail guides movement through the garden while enhancing sensory engagement. Multiple thematic zones are carefully integrated, including an eco pond, orchard and mini forest, edible and recycling garden, fern garden, desert garden, and flowering and butterfly garden.
Each zone is supported by appropriate plant selection and natural materials to reflect its unique ecosystem. The garden allows students to observe plant diversity, ecological relationships and natural processes, encouraging hands-on learning and a deeper connection with nature.
